Becoming a Web Critic

Objective

SWBAT: begin developing analytical skills for critiquing websites.

Agenda

  • Review favorite sites from survey on day one.
  • Explain the importance of knowing the 'good' from the 'bad' before we begin developing sites.
  • Students will look for two sites that they really like and two sites that they do not really like. A fifth site will be picked from the following sites: Google.com, Amazon.com, Yahoo.com, Ebay.com, CNN.com, Wikipedia.org.
  • Download the word document for Becoming A Web Critic.
  • Students will write one sentence about what they like or do not like about the site.
  • From the five sites pick the best and worst site from your list.
  • Read "What The Experts Say Makes A Good Website" and answer the questions for the best and worst site from your list.
  • Answer the questions in the word document
  • Turn in word document to Mr. Gordon's hand in folder

Homework

  • Complete any unfinished work for the day.
