Objective

SWBAT: expand their approach to analyzing IT issues and begin thinking about the ITGS process.

Agenda

  • Dive into the official ITGS guide.
  • Look at page 3 - 'The Nature of the Subject,' to introduce the social, ethical, and IT systems aspect of the course.
  • Jump to page 8 and look at the 'Integrated Approach' to examining issues and articles.
  • Look back over the Social and Ethical Issues.
  • Match up social and ethical issues with topics done the previous day.
  • Breifly look through the IT systems in a social context.
  • What do we already know about the project?
  • Introduce the ITGS process (project) - read page 40-41 in the Project Guide.

Homework

  • Do an entry in your log book brainstorming possible problems within your sphere of influence in society that you may be able to help with an IT solution.
  • Include a short list of people you can talk to for ideas.
  • Re-read page 40-41 if you need a refresher on what the project is about.
