Classroom Policies
- Visiting web sites that have not been approved for a given project will result in a minimum of one week of working from a book, and not using a computer. Code will be handwritten and submitted for grading.
- Posting inappropriate content on welovewebdesign.com will result in a loss of web space, loss of computer privelages, and likely loss of ability to submit any work for the remainder of the course.
- All work must be original, properly cited, and/or have been attained following all copyright and licensing laws and best practices.
Course Content
- Introduction How the Internet works, web standards
- Design: The design process, grid theory, visual hierarchy, wire framing, mock ups.
- HTML: Importance of semantic markup, HTML basics, microformats.
- CSS: What is CSS, how to add CSS to a page, simple CSS, CSS for layout.
- Flash: Overview of Flash for the web, illustration and animation, building sites in Flash, adding Flash into existing sites.
- Business Skills:Basic skills for being a young entrepreneur.
