WordPress Tutorial
In this one week intensive we will learn how to make a simple e-commerce website using wordpress and paypal. The site will be to sell t-shirts using a fictitious company called Tz2Plz - Tees to Please.

- Configuration File
In this section we are going to set up the configuration files for wordpress to work with the database on welovewebdesign.org where we working. - Upload the Wordpress Files
In this section we will upload the files onto the welovewebdesign.org server. - Reset the Admin Password
In this section we will reset the password to login to the control panel. - Change the Site Tagline
In this section we will update the site "tagline" of our site. A tagline is a short description of our site that Wordpress sets to "Just another Wordpress weblog" by default. - Upload the Theme
In this section we will upload and install the Clicker Theme from Reality Software (Thanks to Max Entin for giving us permission to use this theme for the class!)
- Create Thumbnails of the Shirts
In this section we will create 100px by 100px thumbnails of the shirts to appear on the homepage. - Add Shirts to Site
In this section we will add the shirts to our sites. - Update the About Page
In this section we will update the about page for the Tz2Plz site. - Create Contact Page
In this section we will add the contact page and install the contact form plugin.
- Display Thumbnails on Homepage
In this section we will customize the homepage to display thumbnails instead of the full image. - Change Header Image
In this section we will change the header that appears on the homepage of the site. - Edit Header Information
In this section we will edit the header information on the site, namely the page title and main heading. - Customize the Sidebar
In this section we will change what appears on the sidebar to better meet our needs. - Add Login Link On About Page
In this section we will add a link to login or access the control panel on the About Tz2Plz page. - Center Content in Footer
In this section we will horizontally center the content in the footer. - Fix Title on Archive Page
In this section we will fix the title on the archive page to read "Shirts from the "Food" Category". - Change Comment Format on Single Post Page
In this section we will reformat how the comments and meta data appears on for the individual t-shirt pages. - Reformat Permalink Settings
In this section we will change the URLs of our pages to something nicer to read and more search engine friendly.
- Add News Category and New Posts
In this section we will add news posts to our site along with a news category. - Edit Homepage to Not Display News
In this section we will update the homepage so that it does not display the News posts. - Create a News Page
In this section we will create a news page using a custom made news page template. - Update Sidebar To Remove News Category
In this section we will update the sidebar so that it does not list "News" as one of the categories of shirts.
