Design a Site Using Grid Theory

First I am going to share a presentation that some awesome designers gave at a big web design conference last year in Austin.  The presentation is about how to use grids for laying out a website.  Here is the example site that they built (sort of a redesign of Yahoo! homepage).

Then you will take some time to read through some resources on designing with grid theory.

Finally we will work on designing our own sites based on the principles of grid theory that you learned.

The site you design must include the following things:

  • All elements that we agreed a good site should have.
  • A color scheme.
  • Built around a grid.

Save the file as "web-design > graphic-design-one > grid-layouts > layout-1.png"
